"ORTEZ" ORTHOTIC & PROSTHETIC CENTER

Ortez Orthotic Center since 1997. More than 25 years our center help adults and children.

Orthotics is a specialty within the medical field concerned with the design, manufacture and application of orthoses. An orthosis is "an externally applied device used to modify the structural and functional characteristics of the neuromuscular and skeletal system". An orthotist is the primary medical clinician responsible for the prescription, manufacture and management of orthoses. An orthosis may be used to: control, guide, limit and/or immobilize an extermity, joint or body segment for a particular reason; restrict movement in a given direction; assist movement generally; reduce weight bearing forces for a particular purpose; aid rehabilitation from fractures after the removal of a cast; otherwise correct the shape and/or function of the body, to provide easier movement capability or reduce pain.

Orthotics combines knowledge of anatomy and physiology, pathophysiology, biomechanics and engineering. Patients who benefit from an orthosis may have a condition such as spina bifida or cerebral palsy, or have experienced a spinal cord injury or storke. Equally, orthoses are sometimes used prophylactically or to optimise performance in sport.

In the Ortez Orthotic Center work only highly qualified orthopedic-traumas, rehabs and orthopedists. Specialists in our center take training courses in the best local and foreign qualified professionals. Ours center is in regulat touch with specialists from USA and France that's why we are always informed of the changes and innovations in the orthopedic field.

Every year more than 1000 adults and children visit our center. We provide our patients with qualified care, a warm welcome and pleasant atmosphere.
