In 2022, a seminar titled "Development of Orthotics in Armenia and the Application of Cutting-Edge Technologies" was launched. The speakers at the seminar included representatives from European companies OIM Orthopedie and FIOR and GENTZ, who shared their experiences by presenting innovative approaches and technologies used in their companies. During the seminar, several key topics were discussed, including "The Description of Normal Gait and Understanding the Differences with Pathological Gait" and "Orthotics for Patients with Spinal Cord Injuries and Multiple Sclerosis." The seminar was informative, practical, and interactive. Participants were introduced to innovative orthotic methods, tried on orthoses made using these methods, and gained a deeper understanding of their application. In the practical segment, participants took measurements for KAFO (Knee-Ankle-Foot Orthosis) devices. At the end of the seminar, participants were awarded certificates. The "Orthes" Prosthetics and Orthotics Center would like to express its gratitude to the seminar speakers—Tom Gort and Ana Maria Corvin—and the centers that contributed to the organization of the seminar: Planta Sana Luys Barry Rehabilitation Center, Nano-Pro LLC, and Kamara Prosthetics Center. The seminar also provided insight into the differences between DAFO (Dynamic Ankle-Foot Orthosis) and AFO (Ankle-Foot Orthosis). While the traditional AFO is rigid, the DAFO is thinner, more flexible, and wraps around the foot entirely, promoting better fit and alignment.
